Children's Miracle Network To Benefit as RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon
Flies Again At Boardman Oktoberfest
 

Boardman, Ohio - RE/MAX Valley Real Estate located in Boardman, is proud to announce that they will be taking part in this year’s Boardman Oktoberfest, Sunday, September 30th, to help raise money for the The Children's Miracle Network.  RE/MAX Valley Real Estate will be sponsoring tethered RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon Rides asking for a CMN donation of $5.00 per person, but no one, especially the children, will be turned away.

RE/MAX International Inc., RE/MAX Valley Real Estate and our other independently owned and operated offices are affiliated with The Children's Miracle Network (CMN). Each year contributions are made to the Network from corporate headquarters as well as individual offices worldwide.

The RE/MAX Balloon will be located in Boardman Park at the Little League Baseball fields closest to the Oktoberfest vendors. But you won’t have trouble finding us! The RE/MAX Valley balloon is 57 feet across at the widest point and over 70 feet high. You’ll see it rising 80 to 100 feet in the air from any park location! From within the basket, you’ll have a view of Boardman that you’ve never had before. See where you live! Weather permitting; the balloon will be available for rides starting at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

To guarantee yourself a ride you must arrive early. Hot air balloons must be flown in the early morning hours because that's when the air is most stable and calm. Temperatures of 80 degrees or more are too hot to fly a balloon. The amount of lift also varies with temperature. The lift is dependent on the difference in air temperature between the outside and inside the balloon, so the cooler it is outside, the bigger the temperature difference and the greater the lift. By 10 or 11:00 a.m. the air often becomes too hot or too unstable (breezes develop) for hot air ballooning.

You might be wondering if you need a license to fly a balloon. Ken ///?, long time RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon Pilot says,

 “Yes! The Federal Aviation Administration, like airplanes, governs balloons in the U.S. as well. Getting a balloon license is much like getting a fixed-wing license. The balloon also has to have airworthiness inspections every year, or after every 100 hours of flight time. Safety is our primary concern.”
