It takes leadership and dedication to be a powerful community citizen. It means selflessly giving of yourself for a greater cause, to make a difference not just for you, but for others. RE/MAX Valley Associates understand this concept and participate enthusiastically in our community through participation in local and national charities, service organizations and civic groups. Our annual sponsorships include Children's Miracle Network, Susan B. Komen Foundation, The Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley, and Little League International. This year, our associates have decided to go above and beyond these to include their own favorite charities. They have chosen to set aside a portion of their charitable contribution each month to fund a different charity dear to the heart of each agent. This month they have chosen the favorite charity of RE/MAX Valley Associate Ron Liptak - The Boy Scouts of America. Boy Scout 'Friends of Scouting' is in the process of conducting a community-wide campaign to raise funds for Scout Troops and activities in Mahoning County. In the name of all the RE/MAX Valley Associates, Al Leonard , owner and CEO of RE/MAX Valley Real Estate presented a campaign donation to Bill Moss, Chairman of the Whispering Pines District of Boy Scouts of America in Mahoning County, Greater Western Reserve Council, and Ron Liptak, a Scout Leader and REALTOR with RE/MAX Valley. In thanking the RE/MAX Agents Mr. Moss said, "A boy who journeys along the Scouting trail experiences much more than the destination would lead one to expect. As he makes decisions along the way from one adventure to the next, he develops life skills and timeless values that will be his moral compass forever.Scout Leader and REALTOR Ron Liptak, said, "Studies show that a boy in Scouting develops positive values that impact him throughout his lifetime. Values like being Trustworthy and Loyal, Helpful and Obedient, Brave, Clean and Reverent also impact all those with whom he has contact throughout his life. Scouting helps make a boy a role model for his peers throughout his life." "One of the benefits of Scouting," said Leonard (a former Scout Leader, himself), "is exposure to things that a boy might ordinarily not get to enjoy. Work on merit badges gives a boy experience in many areas beyond what he would receive from school alone. A boy learns skills that enable him to save a life – perhaps his own, perhaps someone else’s. Skills learned through merit badge study can stay with a boy throughout his life – perhaps as a hobby or even as a career."
