Paula Lazzari Named Site Director for 2009 Qualifying Event

(Boardman, OH - April 15, 2010) - RE/MAX Valley Real Estate has named Paula Lazzarit o the position of Local Site Director and Coordinator for the 2010 Mahoning Valley Re/MAX World Long Drive Championship Qualifying event to be held July 25, 2009, Walnut Creek Golf Club, 601 E. Main St., Cortland, Ohio 44410

Competition will take place in seven adult divisions:
7 Divisions: Open Division (Any age) Senior Division (45 +) * Super Seniors Division (50 +) * Grand Champions Division (55+) NEW FOR 2010 * Legends Division (60+) NEW FOR 2010 * Masters Division (65+) NEW FOR 2010 * Ladies Division (Any age) NEW FOR 2010
Local and Regional qualifying for Super Seniors (50+), Grand Champions (55+), Legends (60+), Masters (65+) and Ladies Divisions is NOT necessary. A one time entry fee of $800 gives competitors in these five divisions a one-way ticket to the World Finals in Mesquite, Nevada.
No pre-registration is necessary. Just show up and swing for the fences! Enter as many times as you would like, time permitting. Golfers hit six drives per entry, with their longest official drive determining their place in the final standings. Top finishers advance to the RE/MAX WLDC finals, which take place every year in Mesquite, Nevada.
A total purse of $600,000 will be available to the world finalists with an unprecedented $250,000 going to the Open champion. The Finals will be broadcast nationally on ESPN during the Christmas holidays. Come out and take your best shot at becoming the 2009 RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion.
"We're excited to be part of the first-phase qualifying for this hugely popular international event," said Lazarri. "We're hoping someone from our area makes it all the way to the RE/ MAX world finals next fall. We have plenty of big hitters here in Youngstown and Warren, so I think we'll have a chance to send someone to the show. We'll see."
"This December 24," continued Lazarri, "over 10 million fans will watch the finals on ESPN. The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship is aired on national TV in the United States, Canada, Japan and much of Europe. To be able to bring a qualifier for this international event to the Mahoning Valley is just about as exciting as it gets!
